Magic. Wonder how much of our money they blew on that.

If it can be made to work in space, then it is just about making it powerful enough to work on earth.

““It will be this force that we will use to propel objects for the next 1,000 years,” Buhler said. “Until the next thing comes.”

Take yer pick:

A. This new technology is a complete game-changer, a Great Leap Forward (so to speak). Independent testing will verify this.

B. This new technology is not a game-changer. The people behind it missed something. So their experiments are corrupted. Independent testing will catch the mistake.

C. This is a pump-and-dump scheme. Form a company. Sell shares. Company eventually collapses, but not before the founders cash out.

I’ll go with “B”, for now.

Side story: A couple of years ago I read about two university researchers (I forgot where) who tried to make a pulse of light go faster than the speed of light.

That would violate Einstein’s Theory of Special Relativity. Nevertheless, it important that they tried. Science advances when accepted theories are challenged. (Got that, Al Gore?)

Big excitement! The researchers made a pulse go faster than the speed of light. But then peer review found that the researchers made an innocent measuring error. Einstein’s work still holds.

I came to this, watched the video, noted that the tests were NOT shown in a vaccum and scanned the remainder of the article (notable: “Electrostatics”) & stopped reading:

“When you are trying to do motion, you want as little mass as possible,” he explained.”

I’ve watched more impressive demonstrations on UFO propulsion tech. Show me the final paper demonstrating contravention of basic laws of physics and I might be impressed.

I want my 10 minutes back.

The physics are unburdened by the burdens of laws of physics that have been.

”And it also protects the air from breaking down, too, and creating an ion wind. We do not want ion wind.”

They do not want to break wind.

Conservation of momentum. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. For something to move in one direction, something else has to go the other. It has to push against something. As a result, the total momentum always remains the same. If all that turns out to be false, it’s like resetting the laws of physics back to the stone age.
