'Tis the season.
Moon landing = Peak America.
The article counts one day before and after the actual full moon day as close enough. So this "rare" occurance will happen about 10% of the years.
Friend of mine just put up pics of fawns at her back porch. Real cute.
I saw this article next :) So I told her about the Buck moon :)
Awww...is that what the line in the Disney Pocahontas movie was saying? I could never understand it.
Is it “have you ever heard the wolf cry to the Fullbuck moon?” Nrver watched the movie, but that song was catchy
No. It is blue corn moon. Bummer
Van Allen recanted when they threatened to cut off his funding.
“Follow the science.”
Lol.
“ Moon landing = Peak America.”
I had an Apollo 11 lunchbox
🥰
I love our deer guests!
We have a mom with twins this year. They are now at the bouncy bouncy boing boing stage.
Another doe looks like she’s due any minute. She’s sure been keeping the landscaping trimmed for me.
Those late arrivals always look super adorable in the fall when they get their winter coats. If it’s going to be a tough winter, they’ll end up looking like the snowsuit in A Christmas story.
I remember it clearly. Watched it on a B&W tv.
I remember it clearly as well. I was 16 at the time.
I watched the event on TV.
The next day I was playing golf with my grandmother—a sweet old lady who was former lady club champion. She never spoke to me (or anyone else as far as I knew ) about current events or anything that was not family related.
I was so excited.
I said “grandma—yesterday was the greatest day in the history of the human race. We landed on the moon.”
My grandma stopped me right there in the middle of the fairway. She gave me a very hard stare—something I had never seen from her before. She was angry—never seen that.
Then she said the magic words which shocked me at the time and did not sink in until decades later.
“We did not go to the moon. Never believe anything you see on TV.”
We never discussed that or any other current events again.
RIP Grandma—You nailed it.
Stanley Kubrick was in charge of filming the whole fake moon landing.
For added realism he insisted that the entire thing be filmed on the moon.
I look at it this way —
If the Moon landings turn out to be a mega hoax, that would be an even greater achievement in the world of ingenuity than what 6 actual missions could have ever accomplished.
Funny too, for the big announcement that Neil delivered to the entire planet:
That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.
Winning!
The world is on notice: do not mess with real ‘Mercans.
Armstrong’s words should have been:
I CLAIM THEE FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
