I use the Brave browser on my iPhone and brave.com search engine.
DDG is the second choice for search.
I avoid all things Google and Microsoft whenever possible
You don’t want to use Chrome, period. You don’t want to use Edge either for the same reasons (privacy and security).
I only have a desktop and use chrome...just because...Do I need to be concerned?
Jeez, installing Chrome kind of defeats the purpose (i.e., avoiding Google and Microsoft) of using Apple iPhones for their strict privacy features.
The other day I took a pic and used it to do a google search - I got a message from google that I am using a lot of searches and did I mean to do that.
Going to Brave.com from now on.
So is there really a difference between the Google and Chrome search apps?
BTW, I use Brave browser and search on my laptop. Much better than Chrome.
Quite a few posts and no mention of Firefox?
I use both Firefox and Chrome.
But I probably use Firefox more because pages load faster.
I use Safari on my crap iPhone, and that’s very rarely. We had a tornado take out our power and internet service this past Tuesday. Was without internet until yesterday morning. While it was out, I used Safari via Verizon LTE sparingly on my phone to check FR and The Liberty Daily. I only had two bars until the internet returned, so access to anything was slim to none.
Use Brave and it’s search engine, or Luxxle for searching.

Brave browser
Swiss Cows search engine, when I use one. Mostly I use AI instead of search: Chat, Perplexity, Claude
I stopped using Chrome exclusively, because I couldn’t get Free Republic whenever I wished to. For some reason, this site was at times, hard to bring up. So I became a Firefox user overnight. No more if ands or buts.
Commercial was actually funny if long.
Why is it creepy? Is Apple molesting Google Chrome? PS I just deleted Chrome in this moment.
Always use Brave...
Use the private window when on FR...
Why would anyone use a google product?
Opera remains the only Android browser I know of that reformats the page to fit within the screen when you pinch select the font size you prefer. Used to be universal among Android browsers, but only Opera seems to have it these days.
How do I know which browser I’m using. I believe the one that was set up when I bought my iPhone is what I’m currently using.
