A .223 round is not a high caliber round. It’s a small caliber round. It’s used to enter a body at an extremely high velocity and fragment into many pieces. One round to the torso will damage lungs, liver, kidneys, stomach, etc... It makes a tiny entrance and a blender of organs inside. It was why the Malveaux-Boydd DC shooters killed so many people so efficiently. It’s not like a 30-06 or .50 caliber sniper weapon. It’s a cruel round against an enemy. The death takes time and is awful. It’s not used in hunting much because of this.
