A neighbor of the 20-year-old who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump said there have been pro-Trump signs on display in the yard of his family's home.

Same here. And the FBI investigation was all scripted beforehand. They will find nothing of interest on Crooks' laptop. They learned that from the Hunter Biden fiasco.

The Secret Service looks awful, but so far, about everything has gone according to plan.

and I can guess she is friends with Mom and what her party affiliation is.

We are supposed to believe the Democrat and the Libertarian social workers were
such big Trump supporters that they were sporting Trump signs:

So, despite the two conflicting statements about politics, the editors decided to lead with the comment by the neighbor of the family rather than the shooter’s coworker.

Yes they did.

How did a 20-year-old with no job, no income, no contacts, nothing of interest on his phone, and no criminal history obtain explosives and bombmaking materials? How did a 20-year-old with no apparent experience in demolitions assemble the bomb and find a remote detonator for that explosive device? Did he purchase the C4 from Home Depot as well? The answer is that he didn't. Someone provided it for him.

When Oswald hid in the theater following the JFK shooting, he was supposed to meet his contact there. Except the contact never showed and the CIA hung Oswald out to dry.

The same sort of situation happened in this case. A professional hitman like Charles Nicoletti never would have accepted the Trump job. It was too high-risk and too dangerous. But Crooks (we'll assume it's Crooks for now) was the perfect stooge. He was young and naive enough to believe his DHS or FBI contact that there was an escape plan following the hit. After the shooting, Crooks would remotely detonate the bomb in his car, divert the police, and a driver would be waiting for him in the white van for the getaway.

But that was never the plan. The plan was to kill Crooks immediately after he shot and killed Trump. There's no need to send in Jack Ruby! That's why it was so important to have a substitute SS crew and different SS commander on site with Trump that day. The secret service agents on ground were given different instructions than the usual protocols.

But the plan only half-worked. Crooks is dead, but he missed Trump by half an inch.

Whatever the ideology, some just have a screw loose. Stephen Paddock was, in retrospect, a murderous psychopath. But any reasonably intelligent person who seeks notoriety by committing mass murder or assassinating someone famous isn’t about to spill the beans by advertising his intentions to the people around him.

In a way, Crooks is a throwback. For most of history, crazies sought a kind of fame by murdering political leaders. In the past 40+ years, we’ve seen just one attack on a presidential contender since Hinckley’s. Since that time, fame-seeking psychos have mostly committed mass shootings, not political murder.

What if the Crooks lived in a majority Conservative neighborhood? The Trumps signs could have easily been protective coloration. All the members of the Crooks family could have been flaming liberals, but the Trump sign in the yard would prevent nasty things happening to them, as long as they kept their mouths shut.
