CNN and the Washington Post are facing backlash for publishing misleading headlines downplaying the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump at his Saturday rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
“Trump rushed off stage after loud noises at rally,” read the front page of the Washington Post, shortly after the former president flinched and bled from his ear after gunshots rang out around 6:10 p.m.
Footage of Trump being escorted away by U.S. Secret Service officials while triumphantly pumping his fist in the air immediately went viral on social media:

Even with several firsthand witnesses corroborating that gunshots were heard, and a Secret Service agent was heard saying that the “shooter is down,” the Jeff Bezos-owned outlet refused to update its headline to reflect these details for over an hour.
CNN’s version of the story was even worse, with “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally.”
Many social media users reacted poorly to both headlines, calling out the media giants for portraying the situation as less dangerous than it was.

They are in the process of Deep Six’ing this shooting as they cannot see any way for the Democrats to benefit from this shooting.
They say the shooter was a registered Republican. But I guess it’s easy to register however you want, isn’t it? Even Antifa can register as a Republican.

Pennsylvania has a closed primary system. So if you really hated Trump, you’d register as a Republican to vote against him in the primary.

I’ve been a ‘registered Democrat’ to get invites to Dem rallies and meetings so as to get first-hand knowledge. Guarantee Dems do the same thing to Republicans.

When it comes to violence against Presidents and congress people since 1960, the one common strain is that the attempted assassin was either a left wing nutjob or the target was a Republican and, in most cases, both. Dem President JFK killed by communist Oswald, Republican President Ford’s two attempted assassins were a left wing nutjob and anarchist Squeaky Fromme, Republican President Reagan shot by regular nutjob, Republican majority leader Scalise shot by left wing nut job, Democrat Congressperson Giffords shot by left wing nutjob, Republican President Trump shot by left wing nutjob donating to Progressive Act Blue and nominally registered as a Republican. Not one case of a conservative shooting a Democrat.

A talking head on CBS this morning said we must now tone down the rhetoric and proceeds to reference trump’s quote that the left is “coming for you, I’m just in the way.”
But its OK for Obama to say “they bring a knife, we bring a gun.”
I am so f'ing sick of the left saying conservative speeh is inciting violence when all the violence is on the left, from Rand Paul getting beat up TWICE to a lefty shooting up the GOP baseball game, to Trump getting SHOT. Now they say it's because of heated rhetoric and call on CONSERVATIVES to tone it down!
