Agreed.

Downside for me is onions can result in a rather unpleasant gas, depending on the preparation.

Not sure how you can cook without garlic and onions...and have it be fit to eat.

I had an uncle who loved to eat raw onions and raw garlic.

It was best to keep a 5 foot distance from him.

The gas is plentiful and pungent especially when you have pickled boiled eggs with them, Chemically, it's really the sulfur in both of hem, sort of H2S-like.
