I think the percentage of the population today who is “unhappy” is probably at an all time high. In the past, people were poor, and often unhealthy. But I still think a great many of those people were happy enough with what they had and what their lives were all about. Today, many people have a lot of “stuff”, but they are miserable.

Living life in accordance with current 21st century “norms” seems to make people miserable.

Perhaps looking back toward older traditions is a good way for more people to actually be happy. But if you suggest such a thing, a lot of unhappy people will pounce on you.

I had to poop, but forgot to take my cellphone with me into the bathroom, and now I'm sitting here bored and don't know what to do.
