I DO have a problem with all of that. But that’s exactly why I consider it a pathetic joke to complain about downplaying abortion in the GOP national platform.
The U.S. government never stopped spending billions of dollars to fund and promote abortion even when the Republican Party controlled the White House and both houses of Congress.
There is absolutely nothing to be gained by arguing over the official platform of a political party dominated by feckless frauds.
The Dobbs decision was issued along strictly constitutional lines — as it should have been.
I will point out that the Dobbs decision was made by a U.S. Supreme Court that might very well issue a 9-0 ruling AGAINST a federal law that outlaws abortion … on the exact same constitutional grounds.
I concede that point. And point out this obvious conclusion: The US government now has even less of an incentive to reduce the billions of dollars spent on abortion now that the Repubs have elected to remain silent on this as a national issue.
That may be true. That's why the Dobbs decision was a temporary band aid. That's why we need a Life begins at Conception Amendment. Ratified by 38 states. So that even a liberal SCOTUS can't undo it.
Impossible you say? Yes it is. Especially now so that Trump (who did so much for us as president) is now moving to the left regarding abortion.
The best thing that Donald Trump did was to leave the abortion issue up to the states so we can have pro-choice Republicans in the party. That's very important if we want to appeal to more voters, especially women.
Of course not, unborn children can't vote.
Yes, it's impossible. But no, it has nothing to do with Trump.
In the aftermath of the Dobbs decision, pro-life referendum votes have failed miserably EVERY TIME they have been on the ballot -- even in some of the most heavily Republican (and allegedly conservative) states in the U.S.
Forget about getting 38 states to support a Life Begins at Conception Amendment. I challenge you to find me ONCE state where such a thing has any chance in hell of passing.
Let's be brutally honest here: Abortion was enshrined in our legal/political system as a method to kill off black people. The Republicans spent decades effectively playing this silly little game where they pretended to oppose it, but they really didn't.
Does anyone think it was just an accident of history that in the pre-Roe years, the first -- and most permissive -- state abortion laws were signed into law by white WASP Republican governors? Nelson Rockefeller (NY) and Ronald Reagan (CA) were two notable examples in the 1960.

Say what? How about I find you 24 states? As there are 24 states so far that have outlawed abortion since Roe was overturned. Maybe not all 24 would be on board to ratify an amendment making abortion illegal on a national level. But it’s a start.
So, what are you going to do?
Vote for Biden?
Vote for Trump?
Stay home and not vote?
Oh so now we’re brutally honest are we? We must examine ourselves and admit we are secretly for abortion as it kills off “them people” babies?
And for the record - Rockefeller and Reagan were not conservatives back in the 60’s. We know Reagan - like Trump evolved into conservatism. He was a great champion in the anti abortion fight.
Trump used to be a great champion as he appointed three pro-life justices, but now? Now he wants to sweep this issue under the rug?
Unfathomable.
Please name me one state that has outlawed abortion from conception since Roe was overturned.
Reagan didn't "evolve" on anything. Like Trump, he changed his tune to fit the national political landscape once he pursued a national political career.
I will never forget the last time I attended the March for Life in Washington. Reagan was president at the time, and he addressed the crowd remotely, as was his habit.
At one point after his formal address, one of the prominent national figures in the pro-life movement (it may have been Nellie Gray or Judie Brown) just flat-out asked him why the hell he never even had the fortitude to veto a bill from Congress that contained millions of dollars in funding for Planned Parenthood.
He gave such a pathetic, feckless response to that question that I knew this was a hopeless cause, and the whole national political movement was a farce and a charade. And it was the last time I ever went to Washington for that march.
Re-read my post carefully. If that isn’t acceptable to you, read my tagline. Repeat as necessary. Good day, sir.
I’m a life long prolifer as were parents. We worked to return the issue back to States. Reversing RvW, returned the issue back to the States. Pro Life orgs still pump out the same stale msgs from the 70s n 80s. Why? I’m confident it’s because of the 6 figure executive salaries.
Pro Life starts in the home tho controlled by the State. Those of you who push for a fed NO abortion bill will cause this to backfire. The pro aborts stair stepped abortion at will, we need to regulate PP at the State level not Fed

A six week ban is the same difference. 12 are there. More are coming.
So Reagan was and Trump is just giving us lip service on Social Issues?
You may be right. We certainly know Trump increased the debt by 8 Trillion Dollars.
So what the what? Why vote for him?
