Porsche has confirmed its timeline to kill off its entry-level models, revealing that its most attainable combustion-powered cars will end production earlier than previously anticiapated. The company's Head of Production confirmed that the ICE-powered Macan will be killed off in non-European markets in 2026. Albrecht Reimold told the German publication Automobilwoche that the platform had reached its end.

I’m down in Needville. I think I read where Ike (Cat 2) had fewer outages than Beryl (Cat 1). Odd.

Porche is commiting suicide.
Homicide, Euro regulations forcing manufacturers to give up ICE cars is at least as strong as it is here.

The BIG question....why are they choosing this losing financial model?
Government regs. Play, or shut down. Toyota is at least resisting politely.

They aren't crap, but they are expensive to repair, but no worse than BMW or Audi.

Glad I have a few 90s vehicles without a lot of computerized garbage on them.
I think the 90s was “peak automotive” in many ways.

Admittedly, I am not the original owner, but I’ve had it for just under 2 years. I didn’t even activate the “free trial” offered through the dealership, and it hasn’t “updated” before. Just a guess. Your car is new enough to receive over the air updates whether you subscribe or not. I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius/XM when I purchased my car in 2009. I would get frequent over the air updates and had to to logon to to reactivate my subscription during the early days of the car ownership. I haven't had to do anything in the last 10 years.

Methinks an EV would need a lot more cyber-protection than an ICE vehicle. So if its too expensive to do it for ICE, then how are they affording to do it for EV?

No updates for nearly two years, then two in 24 hours and nothing since?
Nope, not buying that explanation.
