“2 billion solar masses”
Had to look that one up. One solar mass is basically the mass of the sun.

Amen! Jason Lisle predicted what James Webb telescope would see before it started sending back images, because Jason is a... Creationist! Yikes! Don't tell anyone! See https://biblicalscienceinstitute.com/astronomy/the-james-webb-space-telescope/ ...

Will this effect the price of a 6-pack?
Sorry to sound snotty but if it is far outside our solar syatem, I can’t get interested in pretty pictures.

It really is amazing stuff but I agree about the hype attempt. “The work represented a real ’emotional rollercoaster,’ requiring innovative solutions to overcome initial data reduction challenges,” Decarli said in a statement.”
I’m not a scientist but to me that sounds like people were upset because they didn’t have enough information to fill in all the blanks so they used innovative solutions. Does that mean they made educated guesses? That sounds like a White House press briefing from KJP.

2 billion solar masses!
Yikes...
This from data taken a couple of years ago...
Data from JWST’s first run will provide exciting stuff for the next decade...
However, the statement that it provides astrophysicists with an “understanding” of the early universe processes is incorrect...
It only provides “more questions and data” about the early universe which is not understood at the present time...
IAC, excellent work...

That's James Webb Space Telescope's Near-Infrared Spectrograph at - ostensibly - 11.5 billion light years. Quite different than their published 'image', isn't it?
I found a better image here from 2 years ago (comparing Hubble and JWST imagery in different spectrums than prior)

I'm not arguing the leap in capabilities over Hubble, but I'm just getting rather tired of these administrative blowhards directing their press offices to gaslight the public into believing that the JWST is capable of AI level imagery. It's not the first time, and this was the most pathetic attempt. I believe it's to preserve their budgets under the next administration, and that makes me doubly angry (and don't get me started on all the wasted $$ which could have been expended on hard science to benefit us rather than wasting it and directly supporting chyna's rapid science expansion).

Yeah.
It’s all fake propaganda trying to brainwash people into thinking that a snake didn’t talk people into becoming evil.

I can only wonder what the next generation of space telescopes will show us, and if I’ll see it in my lifetime.

It will show the extreme narrowmindedness of astrophysicists and reveal the universe to be far larger and older than their tiny brains can imagine.
Honestly, I don’t expect to live to see that, the extreme arrogance of ‘science’ today being what it is.
