As Republicans converge upon Milwaukee, Wisconsin next week to work out their party platform as part of the lead-up to the GOP’s national convention, it’s clear that the big question for delegates will be the issues. In recent days, some party officials have hinted at “paring down” the GOP platform, causing many to wonder which issues will be left on the table.

The republican “Platform” is a joke! Pro-lifers are getting jailed. Is that strong on life issues? Is the wide open border part of the strong platform? How about signing off on trillions of Biden bucks?
Our “platform” is worthless if the Democrats are in charge.
Our “platform” is worthless unless Republicans have an 80% majority in both houses. Democrats working in cahoots with RINOs kill it.
Platforms have been useless except in a few cases since the 1960’s.
The most important thing for an election in having the right President and the most seats possible for the party than one believes will do the least harm to them and their, their families and the country. period.
Fighting for a clause in a platform that has no legal authority accomplishes nothing. It is a distraction and dissatisfying at best. The other party will use any fight to gin up their base or independents against them.
Democrats realize it is about winning seats and controlling power. conservatives fight ideological battles and would rather stay home if they lose than look at the long game. The idea is to maintain power while slowly purging the party of RINOs. It took the d
Emocrats siixty years to transform their party in the way they want. Do we have the same patience.
The key is vote for the candidate of the party to keep control and rumored importantly keep the .schumers and Jeffreries from having control.
No...
Our platform is worthless with the bush league chamber of commerce worshiping republiCAN’Ts refusing to impliment it.
They are worse than democommies.
Fire them all, whatever the cost.
A Republican platform is a bit of an oxymoron.
“Our “platform” is worthless unless Republicans have an 80% majority in both houses.”

R’s could have 100% majorities and it wouldn’t make much difference. They really don’t mean anything they say and the Republican voters don’t care enough to hold them accountable. So the notion of big Republican majorities is just a feel good kind of an illusion.
Excuse my cynicism but the R’s are big on rhetoric but small on results. They don’t have much of a track record of accomplishments to run on and they more than likely will go right back to resisting Trump’s MAGA agenda just like they did before.
Just remove abortion as an issue by supporting it in first 90 days and not thereafter. DNC wants and has laws in place that permit murder AFTER birth in some states.
Agree 100% with all your observations. It the R’s had been ANY good at all we wouldn’t be in the hot messes we are in today. Most of them just sit back and don’t rock the boat — the old “go along to get along” approach to governance.
We’ve had a 50+ year one-way ratchet. They get two clicks, MAYBE we get on click but more often they get five clicks to our one.
Hate to say it but the R’s are basically just a fake party. The party has no soul or convictions. Taxes seem to be the only issue they really care about.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have a useless Republican in office than a destructive Democrat. Any day of the week.
Unfortunately, the R’s seems to be very uncomfortable with the concept of leading. They are more like spectators than players.
It’s not just a platform - they need to stick to it. How many times have republicans promised something, and then failed to deliver - failed to even TRY to deliver.
