Everybody buys their insurance from Lloyd’s and resells it back to you. That would be why they are all giving you the same quote.
You must have posted something on Free Republic that was copied and posted elsewhere before the mods could delete it. You get what you deserve.
What state do you live in? That may have some bearing on what’s going on. Our auto insurance doubled when we moved to New Mexico (from California, of all places). This was 30 years ago.
!!!!!!!!!!!
I can self-insure, but that would be annoying.
any ideas on what should I do next ?
Annoying?
They can’t actually tell you it’s because of all the undocumented, uninsured drivers.
I’ll take my usual wild, uneducated guess here. Thanks to Biden, there are now many more illegals driving around. None of them carry insurance. So in a collision when it’s not your fault, your insurance company has no other company to go after.
Could that have anything to do with it?
Older thoughts were you never wanted to collect on insurance, especially life.
get the liability and self insure. knowing this, you become a much better and careful driver.
or drive older cars.
NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A RATING.
Ditto when I moved from Maryland to NM in 92. It’s actually cheaper now since we do 2 cars and the house with the same agent for 30 years. Also buy older vehicles without all the gizmos.
MY UNINSURED MOTORIST COVERAGE IN CALIF USED TO BE $1 a month extra,
I am now in Nevada-—also dealing with BIDENOMICS—and that part of my premium ==38+++%
It’s happening all over. Homeowner’s insurance too.
My insurance went up a lot too, for no real reason that State Farm could give me, other than “rates are up”. They also are consolidating bills / payments so all 3 of our cars (mine, wifey’s, daughter-san) are due at the same time. Yee-ouch...!
I hate to see what happens when I turn 70.
My semi-annual jumped about $100 from a year ago. I talked to the local agent, increased my comp and collision deductibles and got it lowered about $40.
On a 6-year old vehicle and no claims.
If Biden is concerned about price gouging, he should look at insurance companies.
My auto insurance doubled this year so I shopped it. Went with Progressive my insurance went down to less than I had been paying. My home owners insurance increased 50% and I understand flood insurance is taking a major increase.
“They can’t actually tell you it’s because of all the undocumented, uninsured drivers.”
Yeah, that makes sense to me.
Now if I can figure out why the first digit of my four-figure property owner’s insurance premium has gone up for the last three years...
Why would self-insuring be annoying? Is it a particularly cumbersome process in your state?
So you used to be Baltimore_Slim? Or something comparable.
