Thanks. Yes, Jefferson did not have a very successful foreign policy, especially in his second term. But given the weakness of the United States, the resumption of the Napoleonic wars created a difficult situation for the US. I don’t know if any other President would have found a workable solution. British arrogance eventually provoked the War of 1812.
