I hear ya.....just like EVs IMO...an impractical suckers bet that turns into a money pit and is more than likely a scam.

In the end we are all expected to drive EVs or not drive at all.

I am probably the most conservative guy you will ever run into. I have well over a years worth of food and commodities in storage and have solar on the roof and battery backup. When the SHTF if I’m still around my kids and grandkids will eat and be comfortable.

I have solar because the government gave hefty incentives in tax savings to do it. My solar in Kentucky has paid for itself and now most of my electricity is free.

The government also gave me a tax advantage for buying a plug in hybrid auto, a Chrysler Pacifica. Since I have free electricity it made sense to me to do that and that allows me to drive most of my local driving gasoline free.

I’m not a tree hugger, I have an old Corvette that will pass anything except a gas station, I’m not afraid of CO2.

I don’t see anything wrong with using solar if you can or not having to buy gasoline. Typically when driving the Hybrid we can go for months without purchasing any gasoline. If we make a long trip in that car we have to use gas and don’t mind doing so.

I remember when many folks said that getting a smart phone was silly, a phone is for making phone calls nothing else. I don’t think I know anybody now that doesn’t have a smart phone. I’m old but I enjoy the modern conveniences we have and like to use them.
