In the famous psychological drama, Gaslight, it took a Scotland Yard detective to prove the heroine had been driven half-mad by a gaslighting husband. All it took us to see how we had been deceived was a CNN debate. Who was the villain? How much was the American public the victim of gaslighting designed to dispel the notion that President Biden was mentally and physically unfit to hold the office of president? Let me count the ways.
The Villains
Jeremy Carl is on target about some of the villains. He says the party apparatchiks, and more specifically the Biden apparatchiks, were responsible for agreeing to the debate under terms they thought would be sure to help in hiding Biden’s decline:
They wouldn't enjoy anywhere near the same power and access with his successor. For better or worse, their fates are tied to Biden specifically. They had the debate early because they knew that while Biden was not in great shape, they had drunk the Kool-Aid and convinced themselves, at least to some degree, of the lies they have been telling for years to the American people about his mental state. They thought that if they worked with the most favorable rules, on the most favorable network with the most favorable moderators, and gave Biden a full week to prep, they would be able to get through it and even if they didn't "win" it would be far enough from the election that voters would ignore a mediocre performance. They were not counting on what a disaster it would be to have Biden fully unmasked 1:1 vs. a competent and energetic opponent. Yes, Biden's performance was such a disaster that it's tempting to think "this was all planned" but that's only if you ignore the levels of self-deception...

The debate did not shock me at all. I knew how bad Joe’s dementia was. Those who should be shocked, the Biden voters, probably still believe everything is fine.

This may be true for some, but at best I believe this was allowed to happen and esp this early(before convention) to cover all bets
If by some miracle xidens performance was anything less than a disaster they could move forward with the “sharp as a tack” gaslighting narrative and have their potted plant for the next 4 years or at least till he keels over and can be replaced with their deep state choice, but if he had the performance he actually did they have time to clean up the mess and have a better chance of moving forward with their agenda
I wish someone would go a compilation of all the media idiots who said biden is fine along with the new calls for him to drop out. Would be a powerful ad.

I disagree with the article.. anyone who believed the MSM, Jill Biden or anyone else in the Biden administration that Joe Biden was/is mentally competent is a moronic idiot so if they believe they were gaslighted their right to vote should be revoked.

Maybe this writer didn’t know it before.
Perhaps for some that's what it took. Others knew that they were gaslighting the citizens. It didn't matter if Biden was not in possession of his faculties, as long as it kept trump out of the Presidency. Because the other gaslighting operation was to convince people that Donald John Trump is really evil on par with Adolf Hitler. That gaslighting operation was well received & believed, and that is why they continue with that operation.
That & abortion are all the Democrats have to work with, even if they were to replace Biden, which I do not think will happen. Mainly because they have no good candidates at all. They are a bankrupt political party.
Actually, they have one more thing to work with, and that is cheating on a large scale, but I do not think they will be able to pull it off this time around. They will certainly try though, but the fact that Biden mental acuity is severely diminished, the courts will have to step in. For a weak President is a national security rick inviting bad actors to act against a weakened U.S.
But everyone still has to get out & vote or vote by mail, but I recommend that they take in personally, do not trust the USPS to deliver it.
A lot of voters will vote for the party and not the person. They know that the elected person will just vote as the puppet master directs them to. It doesn’t mater if they had the intelligence of a goldfish.

The choice is being gassed slowly or vaporized quickly.
They hope to be able to point at the next debate and say, "See?! He did much better in his preferred 6 hour work window!".
That should provide them with enough grist for their propaganda mill...
