Musk's SpaceX hired to destroy ISS space station

Nasa has selected Elon Musk's SpaceX company to bring down the International Space Station at the end of its life. The California-based company will build a vehicle capable of pushing the 430-tonne orbiting platform into the Pacific Ocean early in the next decade. A contract for the work, valued at up to $843m (£668m), was announced on Wednesday.

"Selecting a US De-orbit Vehicle for the International Space Station (ISS) will help Nasa and its international partners ensure a safe and responsible transition in low Earth orbit at the end of station operations. This decision also supports Nasa's plans for future commercial destinations and allows for the continued use of space near Earth," Ken Bowersox, the agency's director of space operations, said in a statement.

Musk should bring it down on the White House lawn in DC, so Joe Biden can hold a rally and make a speech from it on the recent accomplishments of NASA in space!

One photon torpedo ought to be able to easily take it out.

Then he’s perfect for destroying an ISS space vessel. Just tell him to keep it up there and let the DEI team do the rest.

Musk’s controlled decent is absolutely amazing, such precision.

And re-usable.

I thought this headline was the Babylon Bee.

NASA can’t even destroy stuff by itself.

I was the Executive Officer to the Chief of the Contingency Support Staff at the Air Staff when the Sky Lab re-entered the atmosphere. We called the operation, “Operation Chicken Little”.

“NASA can’t even destroy stuff by itself.”

And considering recent events, shouldn’t be allowed to. Lol!

It would take 100x that or more to set up a moon base.

They want to put it down in the South Pacific, not Central Park

What a waste. Should have spent all that money establishing a moon base years ago.

You can thank the democRAT controlled Congresses of the 1970s and 1980s for that.

You can either use the money to build spacecraft and hire astronauts ... or you can endlessly pour it into decaying urban hellholes and achieve nothing.

Correct.....which is my whole point about why they contracted Spacex.

They have a jobs program to run and in a woke manner, they have no time for actually doing their “jobs.” I would really hate to be the first crew to go up in their Orion craft, talk about a walking cluster.

NASA has become an embarrassment, just like the rest of the US government agencies. Corrupt, incompetent and full of Marxists.
