Except that he is. He was born in the United States to parents legally within the United States. That was the meaning of the term at the time it was written into the Constitution, and also has been adjudicated to mean that multiple times by this point. That is reality.

I’m not a lawyer, but reading on the subject of the definition of “natural born” citizenship at the time of the Constitution was written, based on British common law, it meant someone whose parents were citizens.
