I like Dennis. In the Christian movie where he played the dad his acting was incredible and I had to watch the 3 times to realize how profoundly talented he is. At first I was disappointed he would play such a part, but then God took over.

He’s got a decent country western voice.
“Legion” was a good movie. R rated.

I last saw Dennis Quaid in the movie “I Can Only Imagine”.
He played a beast of a father his very Christian son had to deal with, and, as his dad was dying from cancer, had to reconcile with. Dennis did a great job both as a beast of a dad, and, later, as one seeking redemption.
The son was given a great line in the movie.
I can only get the words as best I can remember them. It comes when the son is asking “If Christ can forgive me, why can’t I forgive my dad”. It’s a very powerful line.

He converted some time ago. According to Wikipedia, “Quaid is a Christian, coming to faith around 1990 after struggling with addiction. He wrote the Christian song ‘On My Way to Heaven’ dedicated to his mother and included in the film I Can Only Imagine, in which Quaid starred.”
