More stuff. More stuff to regulate.
Many people are greedy and lack empathy for other people. They want nice lives for themselves and they don’t care what they are setting their children up to deal with, with no benefits for them.
“ The author attempts to explain why the Left has gained ground over time.”
Attempt being key word?
Actually a very good read.

This author presents an interesting variation of:
Hard times create strong men.
Strong men create good times.
Good times create weak men.
And weak men create hard times.
We are now in the “weak men” phase. The good times have pushed the strong men aside. The weak men now rule.
It’s worth noting that this is not automatically an endless loop. The hard times might bring forth strong men. Or it could bring a complete collapse.
The author is trying to convince his audience that leftism is inevitable. This article is more pseudo-intellectual agitprop.
“There really was some permanent rollback of the state in the 80s and 90s, however small that victory may have been. “
This is BS. Nothing is ever reversed. It is like a ratchet, which can only turn left.
The Obamacare “Repeal” was the archetype. None of the New Deal Programs or the Great Society Programs was every repealed.
Not in the USA, and not in any other Western country.

The indolent and those less equipped with the cognitive tools necessary to compete successfully will usually be attracted to collectivism.
That was a good read. I liked his observation that the right is into self help which of course the left hates, no doubt because it threatens their cult of aggrieved weakness and failure.
Go back 150 years and these current assholes would be decorating lampposts.
Perverts, pedophiles, communists, thieves … take your pick. Hell, they used to hang card cheats. Fine with me. Hang ‘em all and let God sort them out.
“Natural law” means you won’t need to explain to God or Saint Peter why you killed the filthy bastard.
