In my view, the Trump case is now effectively dead in the water and washed up on the beach. Without any official resolution of Merchan’s June 7th letter, there can be no sentencing on July 11th.

Well, I hope this is right but what I expect is that nothing at all will happen about this letter (except maybe at the appellate level) and the kangaroo court will continue on July 11th.

Except that it was Merchan himself who issued the letter on this topic so that makes it near impossible for him to just ignore.
