—They had EU membership in reach....

And then the Russian stooge Yanukovich betrayed his country.

What’s the difference between that and our stooge causing a war and preventing a peace deal be made because he was told not to?

Ukraine was willing to discuss a peace deal already in March 2022: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60901024

But...

Neither Mr. Y nor Z are truly acting in their nations best interest.

The idea of a nation is still the best way to organize a society.

Nationalism is not a bad idea. It merely recognizes the need of placing ones own nation/people first in policy making.

The Trump slogan: “America first” is spot on. And don’t get me wrong, Germany should put itself first, as should France, Canada, Italy, Israel...

Like a market where business competes, nations compete, like business has a CEO leading their corporation, so are our politicians supposed to lead our nations: Competition and decentralization (allowing for the differences between cultures).

When the leaders of these nations do not represent the people, when outside influence is meddling, decisions are made that are not the best for the nation and its people.

That is even true for us! That is why it is bad when our own leaders go to places like Davos, Bilderberg, as we subordinate our own policies under a UN, etc.

Coordination and joint ventures (economy of scale, technology sharing.... great) where all benefit is a good thing. Subordination / subjugation, harmonization at the expense of causing cultural suppression, is a bad thing.

If you notice, like it or not, Russia is not really part of this and frankly that is largely why this war came about so easily. Russia is not at the table with the political and corporate/oligarch decision makers in the West. There are no political, weak economic and media ties. When there is conflict, their voice is not heard.

Today, many US politicians send a delegate, a representative, often in near secrecy to attend these meetings. That way they can still part of the cabal, but not be scrutinized by those that realize most of these folks go there to make “deals.”

They put some climate alarmist idiot out front screaming and crying, have panels and discussions, etc. for the ignorant masses (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-lm&sca_esv=856bbea95b52671d&sca_upv=1&q=Greta+Thunberg+davos+2023), but behind closed doors, the heads of major corporations and political figures are there to make “deals.” And they are selling us out.

My point is not even the biggest and most powerful Western nation is immune from outside meddling.

We are in a new age. A post-national era in the West, where the political elite coordinates with industry (a sort of fascism) and between nations (outside of official and public channels to avoid scrutiny). The problem is, the nation is still the best way to organize society.

So you end up with a political class that makes decisions where much of the population is left scratching their head, asking why certain decisions were made. Things no longer make sense, unless you get a peak behind the curtain and it almost always involves someone making more money.

Ironically, nationalism and a nationalist leader in Ukraine, would not have opted for a high risk and low return option like Mr. Z did when he played with the danger of causing a war. Likewise, a nationalist leader (who genuinely cares about his people) would have ended this nonsense as soon as possible. But do not get me wrong, I’m not singling out Ukraine, even many of our leaders, right here in the US are the same (they sell us out to China). In Germany, the same (Gerhard Schroeder and his gas pipeline sold them out to Russia)...

This is just a fact:

https://oversight.house.gov/release/comer-reveals-how-joe-biden-received-laundered-china-money/

In our case, we are simply hemorrhaging jobs, wealth, technology, to China (PRC). The corporations want the slave labor, avoid EPA and US safety and labor laws, in some cases even taxes. The politician gets money for their campaign, positive press coverage (the MSM is owned by the big corporations and oligarchs), he or his family become rich in the process, so called non-profits get created which are really just fronts to attack an opponent or rally a demographic, i.e. BLM (magically appeared one year before the election and vaporized afterward).

Ukraine is a bit more extreme where tens of thousands are paying with their lives for their treasonous leader. But if a conflict between the US and China (PRC) should arise, realize Americans will die because of technology, industrial machinery, management practices, which we exported to China. In that scenario, we will bleed even more than Ukraine and our own leaders will have contributed to both the rise of the PRC as a military power, and the crisis. This new and powerful Chinese military that has emerged, is in part possible because of our help in industrializing that nation.

Today, the idea of globalization is pushed as a positive everywhere: in our schools, movies, the news... Much of it is in the open. When it started, you already had meetings and conferences (political-business), but back then these were labeled as “conspiracy theories” and it was generally not known to the public. Discussion about such conferences and meetings a long time ago were limited to information outlets like Infowars (not even covered by the MSM). Today it’s out there, in your face, and they attempt to sell it as a positive by adding these public spectacles that touch on buzz themes which attract the idiots (climate, equity, migration, gender...). But it’s in reality all about making “deals.” https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/joseph_stalin_155812

What we attempt to sell as a positive today, is the reciprocal spin of what used to be labeled as “treason” many years ago.

Treasonous behavior by our political leadership has become socially accepted and in part legal.
