It's only "a lie" if you deny the following amount to "escalation":

1. May 10, 2024, Russia opened a new invasion front north of Kharkiv.

2. June 14, 2024, Putin announced that Russian troops in the Ukraine theater had increased from around 600,000 six months ago to now 700,000.

3. Since May 10, Russia's average casualties are estimated to have increased from circa 900 per day to 1,200 per day.

4. In recent months, increased waves of Russian missiles and drones launched against Ukrainian cities, especially electrical power plants.

5. Increasing Russian threats and exercises in the use of tactical nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

So, you could be correct -- if these don't amount to "escalation", then maybe that claim is a lie.

But, if these are not "escalation", then what, exactly, in your mind is?
