You can’t run a fair competition of any sort when one side refuses to play by the rules. And you certainly can’t run a constitutional democratic federal republic when one side is bent on undermining the principles that that republic was founded on.
And there are only two solutions to this problem. The Republicans will never avail themselves of the first one because history would take a dim view of killing all the demoncrats. Plus they’ve got that spineless cowardice problem.
Which only leaves a national divorce.
