While I fully understand South Korea’s concern, they - South Korea - has a similar agreement with the U.s.
However, what it really means is that the U.S. would wind up entering into the defense of South Korea sooner and stronger, should Russia go to the aid of North Korea.

The people of Germany and France want no part of this war in Ukriane with Russia. The government’s of France and several others in the EU are in a state where Macron or the vocal warmongers could be gone very fast. Things are changing politically very fast. Putin gave the West a change before the weekend Z-man photo op. Zelenski has been out of Ukraine now (for a month), since the 21 May Illegimaticy date. The west has rebuffed Russia. Russia is patient... the political situation in the EU is fragile.
N.Korea was a brilliant idea to destabalize Asia. This US Administration is intellectually weak, and their strong card is LGBT, DEI, and Chicago sytled threats - all something Africa and the Asians for the most part want nothing to do with. The shortsighted lack of thinking beyond threats by the US Biden team has turned the US into a laughing stock in the world.
The DNC is destorying American financially. They are destroying the world economic order by lawless activities. They have become thugs on the world stage.
North Korea is not going to collaspe after all the US efforts is isolate them and turn them into another investment opportunity like Ukraine. Now, it will take years, but they will get economic infrastructure, food and military equipment - with just a little bit of effort, Putin has foiled US Plans simply because the Biden Admin are intellectual lightweights.
Had South Korea been planning to attack the North?
There is the obvious fact that this represents an immediate signaling by Putin that he wasn’t bluffing when he said there would be retaliation for crossing of the red lines. The most serious, and under-looked, aspect of this is the implied tit-for-tat potential for facilitating North Korea’s ability to strike the U.S. in nuclear fashion. The reason is: much of the threats vis-a-vis Ukraine are of this category: for instance, the F-16s which the West brazenly pledges to Ukraine represent a nuclear threat, given their ability to drop B-61 tactical nuclear bombs on Russian territory.
The West escalates tensions by shielding themselves beneath a nuclear-capable proxy, which would allow the waging of nuclear war against Russia with a sort of built-in plausible deniability or legal defense. So now, Russia has requited in kind by implying they can give North Korea even more lethal missile technologies which can potentially be used in conjunction with nuclear warheads to put the U.S. under the nuclear sword.
