The bag, made by Hermes of Paris, is apparently collectible. They dont sell for that much new - ok, expensive, in the low thousands, but not like that. Who knew there are handbag collectors?

She might have got it many years ago. If so it was a good investment.

Investment is the key word. In my area of interest, there are telescopes and accessories that are VERY collectible. For one manufacturer, there are telescopes that, once bought, are almost immediately flipped for far more than the buyer paid. If there’s a market demand, the money will be there.

I just wish I had some of that money….

And can you imagine the value now, since she owned it? If "Jill" had it it would be worth much less.

I remember the racism row in 2013 when Oprah went to Switzerland for Tina Turner's wedding, went into a shop and asked to see a $38,000 crocodile handbag by Tom Ford (one of the designers who refused to dress Melania, btw), and the Swiss shop clerk, not recognizing Oprah, offered her something less expensive, thinking that billionaire Oprah may not have known how expensive the bag was.
