“Big Pharma” IS a few executives. The company itself is nothing but a name. It is the PEOPLE who run it that must be held accountable. What good to sue the “company” and let the actual perps walk? Regarding the “big tobacco” notion, the same people are still out there still selling cigarettes. All they did was get rid of Joe Camel and line their pockets. The corporation is the legal entity these scoundrels hide behind. I want the actual scoundrels themselves held responsible.
There are tens of billions of dollars involved. A few executives don’t have the money to cover the liabilities involved. You can do both, I.e., hold the scoundrels and the corporation accountable.
How much did Big Tobacco settle for?
The settlement also dissolved the tobacco industry groups Tobacco Institute, the Center for Indoor Air Research, and the Council for Tobacco Research. In the MSA, the original participating manufacturers (OPM) agreed to pay a minimum of $206 billion over the first 25 years of the agreement.
The board of Pfizer might be willing to cut a deal and turn state’s evidence with proof of criminal culpability by some of their execs and top scientists in return for not being sued into nonexistence. They will say they started an internal investigation a couple years ago when they became the reports they were receiving from said executives and scientists were BS.
