I’ve noticed YouTube videos average twice as long as they used to be. They never get to the point. I might be interested in a subject but am not willing to sit through a 20 minute harangue for 2 minutes of content.
I’ve noticed that YouTube videos will have some important comment. Then, later that very same bit of interview with the same information may be repeated, sometimes twice. I reasoned that there is something about the algorithm that must be driving this. It’s very annoying. My guess is the creator makes more money if the video is longer. Perhaps that gives YouTube more opportunity to run an extra commercial.
If I can’t skip the commercial, I click the sound off. I have more than enough junk cluttering my brain. I don’t need to know anything about soap, solar panels or insurance.

I make a maximum of three clicks. After #3 I’m gone. Way too many ads, requests for info from me, repetition of headlines, and grammar that would shame a student in Junior High. One word best describes what internet news media has become: JUNK!
I think the longer the author makes his video, the more money he makes.
