Three practical ways to address climate anxiety
The Conversation ^ | June 17, 2024 | by Hanna Zagefka

Climate anxiety is becoming more and more widespread. Taking direct positive action can help you cope with your eco-anxiety while helping to address the climate emergency.

Climate anxiety is not a pathology but a healthy response to a real threat. Inaction is related to feeling powerless whereas action is about taking control.

My team of social psychologists recently surveyed over 1,200 people in collaboration with charity GlobalGiving UK. This research focused on eco-anxiety and other drivers of donations to provide disaster relief for climate-related disasters.

So, if you want to act but donโ€™t know where to start, here are three ways to make a tangible positive impact while helping to manage your anxiety:

1. Donate to climate charities

You can channel your anxiety into action by helping those impacted by climate-related disasters, for example through donating to climate-related causes.

2. Make environment top priority at work

Advocate for positive climate action more widely. Let your employer know that you and your colleagues expect them to have a strong environment, social and governance (ESG) agenda.

3. Share your worries and amplify solutions

Amplify your mission by talking to others about your climate-related worries. Sharing worries is a powerful tool for managing them. Sharing concerns can help you find others who have similar fears, which will ease the pressure. There is comfort in community, solidarity and in knowing that you are not alone with your worries.

“Let your employer know that you and your colleagues expect them to have a strong environment, social and governance (ESG)”

That is a great way to let your employer and fellow employees know you are a brainwashed idiot—dangerous to yourself and others.

I’m anxious to know how they’ll revise their predictions and how much time a new countdown clock will give us. /s

Climate anxiety? Ha! Who knows who ultimately is pushing this climate hoax. China? Russia? Obama? In any case, someone is trying to convince the west to lay down and die and the lefties sure are doing their best to bend over and take it.

Until the west starts seriously pushing nuclear energy (a provable and doable alternative to carbon based energy), I’ll never believe it’s anything more than political BS.

By the way, we live in an ever changing universe. To those who think they can control the climate, the ocean waves, and what time the sun rises in the morning....good luck to you.

Our Modern Warm Period is one of many during the past 12K years. And the warm periods are the good times to be alive (higher crop yields, more predictable precipitation patterns, less deaths by plague).

Only the leftist cult followers believe the Modern Warm Period is either unique or a bad thing.

Let your employer know that you and your colleagues expect them to have a strong environment, social and governance (ESG) agenda.

And a great way to get your employer to say:

You're here to work, not advocate.

Not for me because it is a fraud. December 20, 2023 it was 22 below zero at the top of Stratton. That will make you anxious to get the hell inside.

” Share your worries and amplify solutions”
So to stop our climate anxiety we should “share our worries” so that OTHER PEOPLE get more anxiety? Typical logic of the climate scammers, they are beyond stupid, they are evil.

I don’t see any sign of climate anxiety on the busy highways of America or in the overcrowded tourist places in Europe.

“Who knows who ultimately is pushing this climate hoax.”

White Europeans who want to bamboozle ‘people of color’ in countries like Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia to sell their fossil fuels cheaply.

I think there has been a mild warming taking place since 1850. Since 1850, the global temperature, if you could derive such a thing back then, has gone up 1.5 degrees C. That’s it.

Honestly, I don’t why they have such faith in the early numbers; thermometers were not perfect and very few global recording stations were set up—it took decades for those things to happen, and the World Wars meant a lot of data wasn’t collected. I do agree that very accurate instruments and a wide expanse of collection points are now available, but the only real reason they start at 1850 is because it was really cold then and steam powered industrialization was becoming common.

1.5 degrees C, globally, over 150 years? Very mild, a scientist would conclude.

The hoax is in the “projected numbers”. Some computer models show up to 10 degrees C rise by 2100. But that’s just guess work, without adequate data to show how they came with that... They do input data into the model, but since it’s future data, they’ve been putting in excessive numbers that—so far—haven’t panned out.

Those same models, run in 2005, for example, say we should be at 3.5 degrees C rise by now, but we’re not. They don’t explain very well. They say, for example, “unforeseen ocean swelling from the far depths”, or some other nonsense that SHOULD have been in their model. And guess what else?

Since the model has already shown itself—and others like it—to be failable, they still go on with it—not adjusting new data or information, but just the same erroneous forecasting as if that expected 3.5 rise was not false!

Talk about a hoax! It’s all in the model!

1: realize that it is a scam

2: note that the world will ,ast a minimum of 1007 more years guaranteed.

3: stop hanging around with morons who think that man can change the climate globally
