I live in Redmond Oregon, and it may be one of the last holdouts for a legitimate United States. It is the official Flag City USA. On holidays including Flag Day volunteers put out 1,700 flags along the one-way stretches of this small town. We put them out at 6AM and retrieve them at 6PM.
I used to live in Military City, USA. You know where that is? I haven’t heard that term used - for good reason - to describe San Antonio in a long time.
Today is not just Flag day - not just Trump’s birthday - but my birthday also.
I’m flying my father’s USA flag. He probably got it sometime in the 1980’s. Maybe earlier. I inherited it when he died in 1991. Shortly after 9/11 I brought it to the office where it remained for several years. Remember 9/11? America had a sense of pride and patriotism then. Then Clinton got elected and things went to hell in a hurry. 9 years after muslims attacked America - we went and elected one as president.
The flag now resides with me at home.
