Amid a rise in both positive and negative discourse surrounding the WNBA, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark addressed recent comments regarding her name being used for racism and misogyny.

The remarks may have been prompted from a Thursday afternoon post by Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, who responded to Clark's previous comments that she is strictly focused on basketball.

Later on, following the Fever's practice, she responded to the recent backlash.

"It's disappointing. I think everyone in our world deserves the same amount of respect," Clark said. "The women around our league deserve the same amount of respect. People should not be using my name to push those agendas."

Even worse, they think of Basketball as a Black sport, no Whites allowed.

Which is why all the White basketball players in the NBA are European - Jokic and Doncic. I can't even name one white American basketball player.

The women around our league deserve the same amount of respect.

The word, "respect" needs to be replaced with, "courtesy". I will never respect murderers, thiefs, or gays, but I can be courteous.

You’re confusing respect with admiration. You always should respect a person’s rights. That doesn’t mean you have to admire them as a person

Nobody was talking about “rights” in this article.

“She seems to be the best female basketball player ever.”

And that’s the problem. The ghetto rats can’t handle being one-upped by a white chick. She. Will. Pay.
