When NIL started allowing players to be compensated I surmised it was only a matter of time until all the top talent was consolidated into a few monied schools who would then become the de facto minor league.

This is a good thing in my opinion as college sports long ago ceased to have anything to do with college. Let a few schools morph into minor leagues and the rest can get back to having true student athletes playing in glorified inter-murals. Perhaps then I won’t have to ask why my State subsidized colleges need to have sports programs at all.

There should be federal legislation to prevent any private equity direct ownership in public institutions.

I guess the legislature is too busy voting on foreign aid bills....
