It's still all about the Benjamins. Sounds like it'll be one big cartoon or video game. The amount of global warming destruction would end up being near zero with the new technology so leftists will have to give AI two thumbs up.

Using AI to generate shots in inevitable. The economics will dictate it.

Why pay less to make a movie without actors and elaborate sets? Because actors like getting paid. Set designers like getting paid. Directors like getting paid. They all like to get paid.

But Hollywood people are special; AI can’t be used to replace *their* jobs!

AI doing CGI. The machines will do all the work, but when do the machines build entertainment that they like, and not what people want?

More importantly,

1. Who does Alec Baldwin get to shoot?

2. Will the CGI Robert DeNiro still wear elevator shoes?

Those who are complaining sound a lot like the people who shoveled coal into the fire boxes of steam locomotives: they are no longer needed because the trains run on diesel fuel but think they should still keep their jobs. Wrong! It’s the market telling them their skill set is no longer in demand.

The DemoMarxist Hollyweirds are feeling very threatened by Ai because it has the potential to replace them and everything about movie making. I saw sample videos and it’s amazing, it’s very hard to tell the people are computer generated so imagine what it will be capable of in the future. Oh no! No more need for a Robert DeNiro! All the time I see new advancements like this one.......

Ashton doesn’t know yet that there are truths one is not allowed to speak? :)

Everything he says will happen - and very quickly. He is just not allowed to talk about it.

“Why would you go out and shoot an establishing shot of a house in a television show when you could just create the establishing shot for $100?” he asked.

Well. I hate to agree with a Hollyweirdo, but he's right.

Technological advances lead to increases in productivity of labor, which leads to economic progress, which leads to increased prosperity for the whole in the long run. This has been true empirically for the last 250 years in America.

Reminds me of that WW2 John Wayne film about PT boats, “They Were Expendable.”

Yep. Actors going the way of soda jerks and buggy whip makers.

Won’t miss them.

But will AI stand in front of a courthouse in Manhattan in platform shoes whining about “justice”?

Too funny. Jobs have disappeared for centuries due to technology. Who needs delicate dopehead actors and actresses when you can just create whoever and whatever you want with the computer? No screaming fights, no drug O.D.s, etc.

And the Oscar goes to A.I.

The idea of ai for movies was generated at least 20 years ago. The “actors” would be called “synthespians”. Now, it is almost reality. It’s the idea that counts. Comic books have been read for decades without need for film , digital media, actors...

It’s not that what he said isn’t correct, it’s that Hollywood doesn’t want anyone to know this technology exists, as it could break their monopoly on content creation.

I mean, I understand why they’re complaining, but the optics are still bad.

lol...of course this is where things are headed and it’s nothing new, just next level.
