Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has moved to liquidate his personal assets in order to pay the $1.5 billion he owes the families of Sandy Hook massacre victims, who say they were harassed by Jones’ followers who believed his lies that the 2012 school shooting was a hoax.
Jones asked a judge to convert his bankruptcy to a Chapter 7 liquidation, relinquishing his desperate effort to save InfoWars, the conspiracy platform from which he regularly spewed baseless claims. Last weekend, he blubbered on air that he was being “targeted for abuse” by “deep state” actors who wanted to shut down his show, and he begged listeners to buy his dietary supplements to support him. The next day, the Sandy Hook families asked the Texas judge overseeing his bankruptcy case to liquidate his assets, including InfoWars and Free Speech Systems.
Jones’ attorneys affirmed in a Thursday court filing that “there is no reasonable prospect of a successful reorganization” of his debts.
Avi Moshenberg, a lawyer representing the Sandy Hook families, told CNN that the liquidation move ultimately “means [Jones’] ownership in Free Speech Systems is going to get sold,” ending Jones’ hold over a conspiracy theory empire he’s held for decades.

Here’s a unique twist on the InfoWars brand, if no one steps up to buy it, which is likely, the Trustee could offer the name back to Alex Jones.
Let’s say Alex Jones agrees to pay the Trustee $100,000 for the Infowars name, that money would go to the Creditors and allow Alex Jones to keep the name and start over with a new show using the same name.
Alex Jones was truly groundbreaking back in the day, I even paid for his yearly subscription. He opened a lot of doors to information people had never heard of, but needed to know. His video Endgame even predicted the Covid/phony vax scam a decade in advance.
Now, however, he often doesn’t even seem trustworthy, when confronted by some of his guests. For example, he was literally crying on air the other day that “the Feds” were unfairly shutting him down. No we hear, it’s actually at his discretion, as a preferable outcome to his civil court case. And back when the verdict was originally announced, he said it allowed him to continue to operate until the appeal was heard, which still sounds to be correct, had he chosen that option.
I think the court case against him was mostly a sham, and the awarded damages beyond ridiculous, but I also recognize that Alex,Jones is no longer the same force for freedom and humanity that he once was, or at least claimed to be. I’ve heard nothing new or groundbreaking on that show in years, when it used to be a regular occurrence. The only things of true interest seem to cone from the Greg Reese segments, and I don’t think he even really works there anymore.
If I had to guess, Jones has some offshore account(s) now and is nothing more than a distraction, and/or shill for Trump/Israel, both of which he used to routinely question, if not attack. Lots of questions remain, about what is really going on with him.

Thanks for the interesting link.
What is the value of InfoWars without Jones? Wouldn’t he just start up a new one?
Then you weren't paying attention. Here's a couple, just for starters.....

There was no Sandy Hook massacre. At least not going by the “official” story.
I will go to my grave believing we were lied to on a grand scale regarding Sandy Hook.

I'm inclined to agree — that there was no paper-trail for the required biohazard cleanup, that there was little to no blood at/around the scene, and that the school was bulldozed before fully investigated (i.e. while [supposedly] still a crime-scene) all indicate that it was choreographed.
Even if it wasn't fully theater, I'm sure it was staged/provoked by government agents/agencies.
(There's just too much weirdness surrounding it for the official story to be accurate in any sense.)

That’s why I’ve said the best thing Alex Jones could do is work with the Trustee and get the case closed as fast as possible.
Most people think when you file bankruptcy you are left homeless and penniless, which is not true, based on the Texas exemptions and how Alex Jones has structured his personal finances, he will be okay and able to start over quickly.
Plus, as you tell from reading the article about the Texas exemptions, you need a quality Bankruptcy Attorney help you get thru the case and take advantage of all the exemptions.
I understand he made stupid comments but what did he do to get sued besides that?
I am genuinely asking.
The grieving families wanted blood from someone. They found a wealthy guy with a mental problem who made his wealth from his mental problem, and stuck it to him.
There kids are still dead, by somebody else. All they did was spread misery but keep their own grief alive longer.
They will choke and hate on that money.
Nobody won but satan and lawyers. Typical.
I don't know
Can I sue the hildabeast for calling me a ‘deplorable’?
His claim that Sandy Hook was fake and conducted by crisis actors was beyond stupid. And what is ironic, is that there were individuals here who believed him.
*********
This was a political revenge verdict. No matter how stupid he was, the plaintiffs suffered only hurt feelings, not economic damages.
You do know free republic has a search tool, right?
“ Forget this guy, who was the 2nd black t shirt and camo pants guy who was running past the school buildings and taken into custody in the woods?”
“What proof do you have this was true? Because it was “reported”? I remember on 9/11 reports that a car bomb blew up in front of the State Department. Reporters will pass along any rumor they hear as news during an event like this. Doesn’t mean it really happened.”
“ Because the dates that appear next to Google search results are far from reliable. According to this, there were news reports and other information about the Sandy Hook shooting published as early as June. That’s clearly not the case, and just goes to show that you can’t rely on the Google search date.”
“ Was this school equipped with video monitoring? And if so, WHERE IS THE TAPE?
Nowadays, everyone has a video of everything. I find it curious that we have none in this case. It would put a lid on the question about the AR.
Barry’s “people” probably had nothing to do with the original act as some have speculated. I don’t buy into that nonsense, but if you told me they would rush in to re-arrange the crime scene for political reasons, now that’s within the realm of belief.”
“ We saw bloody students, shattered glass, sheet covered bodies, etc. at Columbine. Here at Sandy Hook we see nothing. Why is that?”
I could have gave many more examples.
I’ve had Freepers tell me there is no propaganda in films/media, argue with me on illegal immigration (as in defend it) and call me crazy when I said climate can change. I doubt if there is a single social media site that doesn’t have false actors pretending to be what group the site is for and only there to cause chaos. On a Dr Phil show he said some studies show up to HALF the participants can be bots, trolls and fakes on some sites.
“His claim that Sandy Hook was fake and conducted by crisis actors was beyond stupid.”
If I could sue every stupid person for billions I would be very very rich.
“His claim that Sandy Hook was fake”
I believe he REPORTED that some have said it was fake. The left glommed into that as a way to rationalize shutting him up.
Are you a Democrat?
My 8 years living in Texas, I remember Texans saying their Constitution protected people in bankruptcy, that you CANNOT TAKE THE COW, THE PLOW, THE HOMESTEAD AND TOOLS. That the laws were more favorable, as Homesteaders who wrote the Constitution for the most part were very poor.
Something else everyone is missing. The entities collecting this money (especially lawyers) get to redirect these funds into leftists and democratic causes.
This Amanda Yen tome is quite the piece of work.
A news story this is not.
then the whole lawsuit sounds stupid, too.
That massive 100s of billions of dollars settlement with the tobacco industry has always had me curious to see where that massive transfer of wealth went and how did it serve the left as individuals and for their causes and party.
“That massive 100s of billions of dollars settlement with the tobacco industry has always had me curious to see where that massive transfer of wealth went and how did it serve the left as individuals and for their causes and party.”
You’re right, I doubt if any of that tobacco settlement money made it to any cancer stricken tobacco users.
Just like Alex Jones’ money will not make it to Sandy Hook survivors. After the Dem lawyers get paid, the big guy will get his cut, and the rest will probably be used as dark money to reelect Democrats.
