I’ve never been around what I would consider a well-trained small breed.


And, just what do YOU consider to be a “well-trained” dog ... small, or, large?

Can not answer for him but for us a well trained dog, obeys basic commands, does not bark for no reason, does not bite for no reason, poops or pees only where it is acceptable.

Both our dog and my parent's dog are well trained.

They both bark when they need to alert the people to something and neither one has bitten a human.

Just the bare minimum of obeying commands like sit, stay, come, no and so on combined with a general demeanor conducive to humans enjoying having the dog around. I have been around very pleasant small breeds, but they wouldn’t take commands. Granted, this is less important for purpose bred rodent destroyers used for that purpose, but the vast majority are no longer used specifically for that reason.
