Attorney General Merrick Garland said this week that he will defy subpoenas from Congressional Republicans that he does not agree with.
Garland’s statement came after Republican leaders in Congress threatened to hold him in contempt “in their efforts to gain access to audio recordings from special counsel Robert K. Hur’s investigation into President Biden’s handling of classified materials,” according to the Washington Post.

On a side note: what happens if it is found that Garland (re: Jack Smith) created an office and imbued it with powers not granted by any law or statute passed by Congress? (For the folks in Rio Linda as Rush used to say, that means Garland had no such authority, and Jack Smith's appointment was illegal. And I would go furrher and say those who assisted any of his activities since are accessories to furtherance of that crime)
Yeah, probably nothing as Republicans sit on their hands.
One can only hope that karma pays a big time visit.
Of course. The laws apply to thee, but not to me.
The Republicans are not serious about opposing Biden in any way.
Leftist commies (is there any other kind?) were SCREAMING for this dipstick to be on the Supreme Court.
Cowards. All talk. No action. Lock him up!!!
This ratfaced bastard would have ruled that concentration camps and wholesale slaughter of anyone on the right, was Constitutional.
The left loves to remind us that NO ONE is above the law.
And the cucks just sit there taking it.
BTTT
We are truly in a post-Constitutional era and have been since 2020. Biden defies the Supreme Court, DOJ defies Congress, and the courts ignore the law.
Proving once again HE’S PART OF THE PROBLEM!! ..imho
Arrest him ,what is the problem?
contempt of congress, but him in jail next to Bannon
And don’t forget it was Johnson and his RINO pals added the funding to keep Smith going, of course it was ‘packaged’ in another ‘must pass’ omnibus spending bill.
Well, I think it’s a bit worse. The courts are making up laws to suit their whims.
Anna Paulina Luna already introduced a resolution of inherent contempt, which apparently is being kept from being put on the floor for a vote.
So, what recourse does Congress have to arrest the person who does the arresting?
Saw that yesterday. Is he going to be in court THIS afternoon, or was that referring to yesterday afternoon?
