A massive blaze at a farm in southern Illinois has left more than one million birds dead and the facility a total loss, officials said.
The fire broke out at approximately 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Farina, a community located in Marion County, according to NBC affiliate KSDK.
Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps told KSDK that multiple buildings at the site were completely consumed by flames, with smoke visible for miles and more than two dozen fire departments called to help bring the blaze under control.
State Rep. Blaine Wilhour confirmed on his Facebook page that more than one million birds were killed in the fire, which devasted the free-range Farina Farms chicken facility.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal. No injuries were reported during the massive response…

So, how does he test his hypothesis?

He signed an NDA with the Government, so he would be at risk if he exposed the data. I live in Iowa. The feds are destroying Multi Million dollar facilities, driving companies out of business, for 1 chicken in 10 million allegedly having bird flu
We’re butchered 25 broilers in my back yard a couple of months ago with my eight year old looking on. He won’t even eat popcorn chicken anymore.
What kind of chickens? I couldn’t find it in the article.

The War on Protein continues unabated.
The USDA keeps track of all sorts of agricultural statistics.
They seem to think that the US annual production of broiler chickens is ~9.1 Billion, with ~380 million laying hens in any given month.
If some nefarious adversary is going around trying to destroy the poultry industry, they seriously need to step up their game. At this rate it would take 38 years just to kill all of the egg layers, and someone would probably notice.
