There’s a link in the article to another article on Law Enforcement Today, which provides a little more information. It seems that he was terminated for not returning to work after he was shot and injured. But, even that article isn’t very clear. It doesn’t fully explain why he didn’t return to work for two years after he was shot. That’s the nature of the news today.
