US seizes Scott Ritter’s passport

The US State Department has seized the passport of former Marine and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter, he told RT on Monday.

Ritter was on his way to Russia for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) when he was pulled off the plane and had his documents confiscated.

“I was boarding the flight. Three [police] officers pulled me aside. They took my passport. When asked why, they said ‘orders of the State Department’. They had no further information for me,” Ritter told RT. “They pulled my bags off the plane, then escorted me out of the airport. They kept my passport.”

“Was this done in accordance with the First Amendment, or the Fourth,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, commenting on the news. The first amendment to the US constitution protects freedom of speech, press and assembly, while the fourth bars the government from “unreasonable searches and seizures.”

“I suspect that a lot of FReepers will have to wonder whether we will be allowed to obtain Exit Visas, considering what some of us has posted.”

Just some academic discussion here...

Prior to WW2 the United States had a very active number of Nazi sympathizers, Hitler supporters, and advocates of Nazi philosophies and Nazi claims. Up until September 1939 they were perfectly free to do whatever they wanted to and they even had some support in government and in the media.

But things changed.

https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/american-nazism-and-madison-square-garden

“Within a year, every leader of the Bund was interned or jailed as dangerous aliens, and by the end of December 1941, the US Government outlawed the German-American Bund.”

In short, Americans have an endless appetite for internal dissent. We even like it. But when war comes things get uncomfortable for those who supported the person or nation that made war on the USA.

Even with the pro-Palestinian rioters they hit their limit and now they’re being jailed and the college kids who agitated for them are being quietly expelled and even denied their diplomas.

I loathe Joe Biden and will say so freely. I even used to like Putin until he went on the warpath. But I never put Putin and Russia ahead of the United States. Not ever.

I love Israel but would never put Israel ahead of the United States. Not ever.

Those folks who agitate for a foreign leader or foreign power over the interests of the USA are indeed taking a risk.

I am not saying that anyone will necessarily come get you.

But if Russia makes good on their threats to attack the USA then the American public may well demand that Russian sympathizers be hunted down and jailed. It’s happened before and there is no reason why it can’t happen again.

And all of my own lofty words about our Constitution and our rights will be but a tiny sound in a veritable stadium full of screaming people who will predictably want retribution.

Case in point is Scott Ritter. He may well have been denied an exit pending new criminal charges, that would be a legitimate reason to seize his passport. Or someone has done the calculus and determined that now is an acceptable time to start going after people who overtly support Russia and Putin ahead of their own country.

We’ll see. I imagine Ritter’s lawyers will respond to this and some semblance of truth will eventually surface. And then we’ll find out what it is.

If he’s been up to his old tricks trying to lure teenage girls then I’m sure that will hit the press.

If this is purely political? I might actually donate to his defense. I suppose we’ll see.

“No, there is no prohibition against US citizens traveling to Russia.”

Sure would be nice if the pigs that removed Ritter knew that.

They seized his passport for some still unknown reason.

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/legal-matters/law-enforcement.html

Law enforcement agencies may ask us to revoke a subject’s passport under 22 CFR 51.60-65. After we revoke a U.S. passport, we inform law enforcement and border agencies around the world so the subject cannot travel.

In your agency’s request to revoke a passport, you must include:

The subject’s name (include aliases)
Date and place of birth
Social security number
Known previous passport numbers
Last known physical address
Any other identity documents and photographs of the subject
Copies of any criminal court orders or valid arrest warrants, and
The names, agency addresses, and phone numbesr of the law enforcement officer and supervisor whom we can contact

Send your request on official agency letterhead by mail or fax to:

U.S. Department of State
CA/PPT/S/A
44132 Mercure Cir
PO Box 1243
Sterling, VA 20166-1243

Fax: 202-485-6496

Despite Ritter’s “ criminal record”, he was issued a U.S. passport. This smacks of a political hit job, probably by the IC and/or State Department. The reason for this action must be given. Ritter should demand that it be provided.

I don’t dispute Russia. Scott Ritter is scum. He doesn’t tell me anything I don’t already know.

I don’t give a flip about Ukraine either.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
—Martin Niemöller

Whether you like Ritter or not, we should not accept this capricious control by the government over our ability to travel. It is the stuff of tyranny.

It’s gonna be commie lawfare from now until Trump returns. Who knows what will happen then. It will all depend on how quickly he can jail or execute the criminals and replace much of govt. that has been weaponized.

No one is asking you to support Scott Ritter. The issue is our right to travel freely. The USG should not be allowed to arbitrarily infringe on that right. Scott Ritter as a person is irrelevant. It is about our rights as a citizen.

I can recall when Alex Jones was excluded from social media. Very few came to his defense because he was portrayed as a far right nutcase. His rights could be violated because he deserved it.

As a child predator, he shouldn’t even HAVE a passport. The fact that he was allowed one is a slap in the face to decent people worldwide.

Ritter has been hobnobbing with this guy, George Galloway, who is behind the Gaza Flotilla events - both are for all practical purposes unregistered foreign agents...

Yep. this George Galloway, aka Gorgeous George, (also a pervert):

“...As terrorism expert Patrick Poole writes: According to press accounts, more than $1 million in aid for Hamas, including the cash and supplies raised in Orlando at Musri’s mosque, along with funds raised in Kansas, New York and Illinois, was provided on Galloway’s July 2009. There to greet them and take possession of the cash was Hamas economic minister Ziad al-Zaza and Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh, another designated global terrorist.”

Note Ismail Haniyeh is one of two Hamas leaders who gave orders for the October 7, 2023 terror attacks.

If Ritter was legit he wouldn’t be making appearances with Gorgeous George...

... According to a recent report, Alexander Kotey left the UK on Galloway’s “Viva Palestina” convoy to Gaza in 2009, and from there eventually made his way to Syria to join the Islamic State terror group. [...]

As many as eight Muslim extremists who would later be convicted of or involved in terrorist activities joined the convoy, according to The Times. Among them were Amin Addala and Reza Afsharzadegan, both known associates of Emwazi from west London; and Stephen Gray, a former member of the Royal Air Force who attempted to join ISIS.

The list of extremists who traveled with Galloway also includes a member of the Taliban and former Guantanamo Bay detainee, Jamal al-Harith. Al-Harith was released from Guantanamo in 2004, and more recently joined ISIS in Syria....

If you want to make your case, use someone other than an anti-American child predator to do it.

Ritter was the scorn of FR many years ago when he was pushing his anti-American rhetoric and his arrest was EXTENSIVELY discussed when it happened. He is not an innocent lamb.

The number of people of FR defending Ritter is disturbing. Ritter is a POS that deserves no respect at all.

You miss the point repeatedly. This is not about Scott Ritter. I am not a fan or supporter of him. This is about tyranny and the rights of US citizens. No rationalization or justification of illegal USG actions should be based on whether I like or detest someone personally. Look what the judicial system is doing to Trump.

We need to know why the USG confiscated Ritter’s passport.

Does that answer your question? When it comes to Ritter, I DON’T CARE!

What Scott Ritter passport doink?

The International Megan’s Law and the relevant Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) guidelines require that all registered sex offenders report international travel at least 21 days prior to departure from the United States.

The bastiches put a real crimp on your plans to travel abroad this summer, hey, marcus?

We feel bad for ya. And for the hit to the Thailand economy.

Is it true that your mom turned you in? That kind of betrayal has got to hurt.
