Yup. How many times have I heard that excuse from dog owners?

There is the other side. The postmaster in our area came to talk to us about our dog biting the mail carrier. Our dog is always behind the fence that surrounds the back yard so it seemed unlikely. But we pulled the footage of what happened that day. Mail carrier walked past the house to the fence that encloses the backyard and started to fool with the gate. Lily trotted toward him and said "Woof?"

Mail carrier tried to run backwards and fell. I guess he ripped his uniform at that point. He scrambled back to his truck and booked it out of there.

He was at least a full twelve feet away from her at all times.

Postmaster said, "Sorry to have bothered you."
