A town of 900 so what's that? Mayberry? Two officers? Andy and Barney? They had to have known everyone in that freaking town? They did not know that dog and his owner? They did not know the dog was not a threat? In a town that freaking small you would think Andy and Barney knew every cat and dog in the area. Am I correct? What is going on here?
The important thing is that Officer Woodson made it home safely.
Seems like it to me.
However, no police dept these days could not end well.
what’s going on is the difference between Andy and Barney. any had the cool head, didn’t leap before he thought and knew and respected every little quirk of everybody in town while hothead Barney was scared of his own shadow and thought everyone was a potential criminal just looking for an opportunity to do evil. why do you think Barney only had ONE bullet and it was kept in his pocket? IF ONLY this putz of a policeman had to keep only ONE bullet in his shirt pocket...
Looks like Mr. Woodson was formerly a Missouri corrections officer who has had legal issues before.

Unlike Andy and Barney, this guy looks like he uses intimidation and force at the least perceived provocation.
There is no indication in the article of the dog being dangerous or even a nuisance. And nothing about the police being called by a citizen.
Idk....maybe the dog was on record has having bitten someone...?
Cool head? Barney would have shot the ceiling or floor before the freaking dog! Andy would have had to come rescue Barney from on top of the hood of the patrol car while the dog was barking at him. All the while Barney would have been yelling “nip it in the bud Andy, nip it in the bud”. Andy would have called the owner of the dog and had them come get the pooch and given them a stern warning about letting it loose without a leash.
This guy on the left was afraid of the dog on the right? Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me!?
who says it was a "senseless" killing?
who determines whats senseless and whats not? The george floyd crowd?
Some of y'all are wound tighter than the new guy on a butt pirate ship, over a situation 1000's of miles away from you and it has nothing to do with you.
Here is the original article about this. I think the pup was just old, blind, and deaf.
Sounds like you’re the one sho is “wound up.”
You can find stupid and bad cops, teachers, priests, coaches, politicians, rabbis, administrators, businessmen, everywhere
The key thing - limit their power, give citizens control over them, and allow access to justice.
inflammatory? First of all does this county not have animal control? They have to call Andy and Barney for a lost dog? Not like it was a pit bull or rottie. Just some Paris Hilton mutt.
“This guy on the left was afraid of the dog on the right? Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me!?”
My feelings exactly.
Is Ben Crump getting his slice?
Fire the cop and tell him to leave town. Now.
Judging by that cop’s costuming he must be playing the Andy Griffith part of his Mayberry little town.
Fire the cop and escort him out of the town.
You haven’t watched the video of the dog killing?
