Abrupt reduction in shipping emission as an inadvertent geoengineering termination shock produces substantial radiative warming

Human activities affect the Earth’s climate through modifying the composition of the atmosphere, which then creates radiative forcing that drives climate change. The warming effect of anthropogenic greenhouse gases has been partially balanced by the cooling effect of anthropogenic aerosols. In 2020, fuel regulations abruptly reduced the emission of sulfur dioxide from international shipping by about 80% and created an inadvertent geoengineering termination shock with global impact. Here we estimate the regulation leads to a radiative forcing of Wm−2 averaged over the global ocean. The amount of radiative forcing could lead to a doubling (or more) of the warming rate in the 2020 s compared with the rate since 1980 with strong spatiotemporal heterogeneity. The warming effect is consistent with the recent observed strong warming in 2023 and expected to make the 2020 s anomalously warm

...by the cooling effect of anthropogenic aerosols

I'm old enough to remember when the left assured us that the science says that aerosols made the earth warmer.

It is all BS based on nothing but a crackpot theory supported by nothing but manipulated data and statistical nonsense. When I was in school during the 1970s we were taught that we are currently overdue for a major cooling trend judging from geologic patterns. And we still are.

I remember when the Science told us that human activity was bringing on an Ice Age.

I was just think that I have never read about a climate model that took into account all of the carbon sequestration that man’s industrial activities causes as a matter of business as usual.

Every year millions of trees are cut and milled into lumber. Those trees would naturally either die and rot, their wood naturally rotting and returned to the atmosphere as CO2, methane or other gases.

Weather and climate are far to complex (and self balancing) for scientist to understand or model.

“ In 2020, fuel regulations abruptly reduced the emission of sulfur dioxide from international shipping by about 80% ”

In 2020 economy’s drastically slowed leading to less emissions

Finally, something that I understand. Not just malarkey for the masses.

In grade schools in the late 70s I, along with 4 other male students at elementary school, was forced to play a doomsday computer. No matter your inputs everybody died either due to overpopulation or the next ice age and all before the year 2000.

“gobbledygook”??

Beware the coming ice age...

Because of data manipulation, it is difficult to tell if there actually has been a warming trend over the past 30 years. Either way there have been no significant changes outside of natural variation anywhere within the United States or in other parts of the world that I am aware of.

The real hazard has always been the return of colder weather. Approximately 10,000 years ago almost the entire area where my wife and I live was still covered by a massive ice sheet. It is thought that the earth's orientation toward the sun shifted approximately 20,000 years ago which approximately 10,000 years to melt off the more Northern regions of North America.

People have little to no effect on the types of events that cause huge changed in climate. We view ancient civilizations who sacrificed huge numbers of people to alter the weather as primitive. Yet at this time our governments are engaged in the same type of folly. The mechanisms are different, but “green energy initiatives” etc... cause extreme difficulties for vulnerable populations. Leftist lunacy is the real threat to mankind.

In otherwords they are making up yet another reason why all their doom predictions have never come true. But of course even a lack of doom is bad so that must be controlled too.
