ROBERT De Niro was spotted wearing huge platform shoes in order to tower over co-star Al Pacino on the set of their latest movie.
The 74-year-old actor - who stands at a modest 5ft 8in - had to rely on specially designed footwear to look taller than 5ft 7in Pacino.

So. Are all scenes with De Niro and other people done so as to exclude his feet?
Back in his younger days.
What bums me out is I loved almost every movie the ahole made. Can’t watch again though.
I don’t know that I ever say him in a movie. I have been to three movies since about 1990 and was disgusted by two of them.
It makes him look stupid.
I think that’s a common practice to put short people in platform shoes.
Can you imagine if he stepped on a discarded bottlecap and twisted his 80 y/o ankle while wearing those shoes?
The profanity would be off the wall. He would blame Trump for that too.
His character was supposed to be taller than Pacino... can’t fault him for his work props.
He is a goon tho.
If he were 7 feet tall, he’d still be a pathetic, little man.
I think that’s a common practice to put short people in platform shoes.
xxxxxxxxxxxx
what’s the lift on desantis’ boots?
TAB….. taller actor Beckons
Al Pacino had a smaller role in The Irishman but completely stole the movie away from the vain, arrogant Communist.
High School Bobby is a true empty vessel that can only spout lines written for him by other people. He doesn’t like that truth and thinks he is Fredo - I’m smart - I can do things - but he can’t flip a log without directions.
I never liked any of the movies he was in as he always seemed like a loser. The only movie he made that I liked was the “King of Comedy”.
You must have caught The Crying Game.
I’ve seen guys in Darth Vader costumes they put together themselves, they cost about ten grand. They almost always have boots with really thick soles to make them approximate David Prowse’s height. It usually works along with the rest of the black costume, just looks like they’ve stolen Gene Simmons’s footwear.
I really liked the ending of “Joker”.
Forest Gump was the only one I liked. Mrs. Doubtfire attended at the insistence of my wife and suffered through it to the end. The Alice in Wonderland update that looked really good in the reviewers I trusted(note the past tense) - turned into a formula Disney movie in the first 5 minutes and I watched it through because my kids were with me, I regretted the time lost. Wihout the kids I would have walked out after no more than 6 or 7 minutes. Once upon a time Disney did good movies, like Fantasia. Note: it goes double of TV. I have not had one in my house since 1988.
