Just musing about the numbers I posted earlier, I think that in the EV vs ICE efficiency game we have to add a malus to the EV:
In an ICE car as you drive along the mass m of the fuel constantly decreases so the F = m x a balance increases favorably (watch any F1 commentary!) - less force needed to accelerate the ever lighter total mass.
In an EV that 2000+ pound battery lump remains the same, no matter what the charge. (An electron weighs 511 keV/c^2 as is well known, which is fck all.)
I would grant that there are specific applications which are well-suited to EVs, but they are NOT a general solution.
