Defined benefit pensions are incompatible with any sound economic and financial policies. Paying people for an unspecified period of time after they are no longer contributing to the employer’s productive activities is lunacy. It’s no surprise that entire industries have collapsed under their pension liabilities.

This is why defined benefit pensions are generally only found in two types of jobs: (1) government, (2) industries that exist through some type of corporate-government fascism.
