Doesn't look good. Means we're not that serious. I thought Texas was no nonsense conservative. With 79% of the vote in Covey will have to get 4k of the remaining 6k votes.
The district might be purple. There're enough squishes to keep him in the speakers role with 100% democrat support.
Does this mean Paxton was guilty all along?

Not a single state in the union has a solid “conservative” elected government. They are all Rino’s and Texas is no exception.
Our side is every bit as stupid as the RINO’s and Democrats think and say we are. And this is part of the reason why.

The way our people stood up for that Santos fella in NY would suggest we don’t want to win. You gonna blame the storms?

We’re not voting our way out of this.

[I thought Texas was no nonsense conservative.]
Texas is majority Hispanic. At best, the Hispanic vote is 40% GOP. And Hispanic GOP voters don’t agree with every GOP plank - they tend to be what I call Peronists, welfare state conservatives.

Not surprised it’s the power of incumbency. Many people just don’t into special elections wouldn’t be surprised if turnout was very low.

Our biggest problem is Republican voters who are just lazy and/or uninformed. They keep voting for losers like Phelan or John Cornyn "because they recognize the name". They can't be bothered to take a few minutes out of their life to do some freaking research and vote for people who will actually make a difference.
And then, after electing losers, they spend the rest of the time complaining about the crappy job the Republicans do.

“Every Texas city has been turned blue.”
Aside from the towns of Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and El Paso, Texas is solid Republican.

Democrats have mastered the iron hand in the velvet glove tactic. BJ and the Kenyan are very affable while being committed leftists. How many females want to hop in the sack with a ‘pull yourself up by the bootstraps’ line?

Turnout down? Gee...I wonder why?

“Jefferson: 66% Phelan, turnout down 7%”
You can chalk that up to Jefferson County Democrats crossing party lines and voting in the Republican runoff.
To: DIRTYSECRET
Had only Republicans voted in the Runoff, Convey would have won.
