I thought so. This is so sad. I’m sorry for the family friends and for him.
Pfizer breathes a sigh of relief.
Depression is a terrible thing. Awards, trophy’s, fame, money can’t cure it. I pray that God bless his soul and that of his family’s.
Bad round of golf is a piss poor reason to do ones self in, otherwise there’d be tens of thousands of tragedies every weekend. Must have been other things going on.
I can personally attest to that.
The only cures I found to that problem were Jesus (most importantly), vast amounts of cardio exercise, and absolute abstinence from alcohol (and other related stimulants).

One red flag is that the statement mentioned family members and friends, but not specifically his fiancée, Christiana Ritchie. Murray and Ritchie lived together in Florida, and were to be married in “Spring 2024.” Ritchie also traveled with Murray to many of his tournaments. Which begs the question, was she with him this week? Was there an argument or disagreement that might have triggered him? Prior to his death, Murray evidently deleted an Instagram post speaking to his love for and appreciation of Ritchie. No matter the circumstances, an awful situation.
Yup... People would be dropping like rain if that were the case... I’d be ecstatic if I were 5 over through 16 holes.
Just as irishjuggler and I suspected
It’s sad when someone is so despondent that they cannot see the future without depression.
Unfortunately pretty obvious when he said “I’m done” and it was reported he suffered from anxiety, alcoholism and depression. Poor guy and his poor family...
There are ways to beat alcoholism but even so it’s a terrible thing to be stuck with.
Some are sadden by the news.
He was depressed by his golf game. Imagine what thousands of families feel because they can’t make ends meet.
Bidenomics is a serious source of depression which will be with us for a long time to come. Many suicides will go unrecognized. We only see the tip of the iceberg of the disaster and the despair to come.
God, please be merciful to this poor man.
NOT very nice for those around an alcoholic, either.
Been there
Done that
And they'll beat themselves to death with those questions for the rest of their lives. Suicide is a coward's act. They don't realize what they do to the loved ones they leave behind. The survivors will always wonder if there wasn't something they should have seen, said, or done to try to prevent it.
After graduating college I was hit with severe depression. It came out of nowhere. For awhile I was firing on all cylinders creatively and was on top of the world.
And then, I suddenly lost all happiness. Became numb to everything. Could not see any joy in life.
It was four years later that I received the diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
That was twenty-four years ago and I am now fifty. I've spent half my life waging war against my own mind turned against me. It's cost me jobs, opportunities, friendships, even a marriage.
I have tried to end it all so many times that they can't be counted. To be honest, I don't know why I'm still here.
I'm glad I am though. It took me a long time to understand that this is a broken world. Sickness and disease are part of it. I don't know why God let me have a mind as tormented as mine, but I suppose it could have been worse. I spent three and a half years working in the mental health field and routinely encountered people with graver illness than mine.
I've gotten better at managing my condition. I want to believe it's possible to still have some happiness with what's left of my life.
No way it was just the golf game.
I've been there. I know what I speak of.
