Oh I will definitely check that out. Have you ever been to the native plant event they have at West Valley College?

Genetics. My grandmother smoked beginning in her teens and we got to watch her die of emphysema at 53 in the living room. Doesn’t seem like a good way to go.

All things in moderation I suppose.

There is a story of a French lady who lived to 105. She smoked and drank sherry. Her doctor advised her to quit smoking, and she died a few days after quitting. At some point - you make to 105 - you don’t have to listen to anyone.

It is.

People in the 1800’s and before had tapeworms and roundworms (tularemia).

Tobacco in the system killed off a lot of parasites (nicotine). Whisky as well.

All my uncles on my dad’s side smoked except one. The youngest—a non-smoker died of a stroke at age 52. The rest of them lived into their late eighties and nineties with one other exception. My dad died when in his late 60s.

My Dad died from a bad fall at 92, he was smoking Camel non filters for years. He’d been smoking for 78 years. He said when he was kid in grade school, he would help other friends with their math homework for free cigarettes.

My Mom, smoked into her 80s, is now 105 and still going strong. Outlived her generation and is healthier than all her children.
