The biggest weekend for Auto racing!! Monaco in the morning, Indy for lunch and the NASCAR Coke 600 for dinner...

The hairpin turn under the hotel showing those yachts in the harbor is iconic.

Hope Kyle Larson does great in the Indy 500... He'll be doing 1100 miles if he completes both races...

22 May 1966 24th Monaco Grand Prix and I was there ...
Deployed to the Med as a Marine our ship was in Cannes on liberty. This was during the Cannes film festival. Boarded a train and travelled the 35 miles east to Monaco with a couple Marine buddies. This was the year the movie Grand Prix was being filmed ... a helicopter was flying over with a camera crew hanging out the door filming the crowd scenes. The other scenes had been filmed earlier. Have the poster for that Grand Prix as well as original ticket ... which cost 20 Francs.

Notverstoppen says Red Bull’s problem was Monaco’s kerbs. Like the race at Singagore, where the uneven track surface prevented Newey’s design maintaining its required ultra-low ride height. Track smooth, they smoke the competition. Track rough, they sucketh.
