Brown claims his assets are worth just $50,000 or less, according to court documents
Former NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown has filed for bankruptcy. According to the Times Union, Brown owes nearly $3 million to eight different creditors as stated by paperwork filed on May 15 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court of the Southern District of Florida. He reportedly filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which involves the court-supervised reorganization of a debtor's assets and liabilities.
That amount includes a $1.2 million court judgment to Anton Tumanov -- a moving-truck driver who sued Brown for assault and battery during an altercation in 2020. It also includes money owed on a credit card, a marketing firm and a law firm, among other debts.
Brown's own media company, CTESPN Network confirmed the bankruptcy filing via social media earlier this week.
"NFL legend Antonio Brown has filed for bankruptcy today," the post read. "He will be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2027. He will be releasing new music this summer. He is also the founder of the most trusted source in all of sports.
"The generational run continues."

— CTESPNNetwork (@CtespnN) May 20, 2024 Brown was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft and spent most of his 12-year career in Pittsburgh. He saw a lot of success as a seven-time Pro-Bowler and even won a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. However, Brown has not been back on the field since 2022, when he took off his shirt and left in the middle of a game against the New York Jets.
Brown made over $88 million as a player, but he currently claims he has less than $50,000 in assets.
Ping!....................
Much deserved...
He spent most of it on booze, drugs and women. The rest of the money he just squandered.
Good thing he’s got his college degree to fall back on.
It takes a lot of dough to keep an entourage.......................
Way too many players enter without thinking this career and money train has a timer on it, and it’s shorter than you think.
I did read that he went back and finished his last year of requirements for is college degree from CMU.
Hard to feel sorry for the lad, but now he'll want the NFL pension to bail him out from his ongoing mistakes, and ticket purchasers will subsidize this crap.
Could go into politics and become a grifter.
I’m a Steelers fan. It is sad what happened to this guy who came into the league as a humble, hard-working sixth-round pick who earned his way up the starting lineup and to fame and fortune. He came from the ‘hood in the Miami area and was such a rabble rouser, he was essentially exiled to Central Michigan University instead of University of Miami or Florida State where he could have easily played. His early years in Pittsburgh made it appear that he truly matured and turned his life around for the better. Then he started to go bats*** and forced a trade to the Raiders, who shipped him off before he ever played a down for them. He bounced around a lot after that though he won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing with Tom Brady.
First round hall of famer? Doubtful. He certainly would have been if he just played the remainder of his career without the shenanigans. He may get there eventually; he has the stats for it. He may be waiting a while though.
Once read that within three years most Ex-Ball players (all sports) are broke....................
88 million....... stupid hood rat
“he went back and finished his last year of requirements for is college degree from CMU”
I guess it’s safe to assume it wasn’t in finance and accounting.
“Brown made over $88 million as a player, but he currently claims he has less than $50,000 in assets.”
Yowza.
Grew up in liberty city Florida.....not exactly Beverly Hills.
He is unfortunately carrying on a long tradition of pro athletes squandering all they earn.
What’s that old saying? A fool and his money are soon parted...
A fool and his money are soon PARTIED!..................
